This is an awesome setup to soak bigger baits off of the beach, rock and breakwalls on the east coast of Australia. The Alvey 60GT is a bigger sized reel, these reels can be dropped in sand, dunked and dropped and will continue to do their job to perfection. The Alvey has adjustible drag, 360 degree rotation so it can be fished left and right handed and is lightweight. We chose the 12ft mid mount Wilson as it can be placed in PVC or steel rod holders, it will also fit into Hook'Em bull bar rod holder attachments. This rod loads up nicley and you can put serious pressue on this combo. This setup is ideal for chasing Jewfish, Snapper, Drummer, Grouper the lighter 6-9kg Wilson rod has a soft enough tip to allow you to use smaller hooks and target Bream, Tarwhine, Tailor and Whiting as well.
