This Daiwa Combo consists of the new Daiwa 23 Aird 2500 fishing reel, the new Daiwa Legalis 702LFS that has a 2-10g cast weight and is spooled with Daiwa J Braid X4 8lb yellow. It is a great entry level combo for all light estuary soft plastics and harbodies. It is light enough to be able to cast 1/20 TT hidden weigh (HSW) jig heads rigged inside small soft plastics but will still cast a 1/4 oz Nitro Bream Pro Jighead if you fancy catching a flathead. It is not an expensive combo but one that will still perform well.

DAIWA 23 AIRD 2500 SPINNING FISHING REEL 

As bright & bold as ever, the 23 AIRD builds on the fundamentals of Daiwa spinning reels by introducing AIRDRIVE DESIGN for the first time, into an affordable price-point spinning reel suitable for all angling skills.

ARIDRIVE DESIGN is incorporated in 23 AIRD through AIRDRIVE ROTOR, AIRDRIVE BAIL and AIRDRIVE SPOOL.

The rotor is the most obvious and important change, with a significant weight reduction to the rotor unit, lightweight rotation is achieved. By reducing the weight of rotational mass, anglers will feel that 23 AIRD is easier to turn than ever, especially the start up inertia.

The new AIRDRIVE bail is a great upgrade from the previous model, with a lighter weight construction further reducing the weight and lowering the start-up inertia even more.

23 AIRD is built off the same carbon light body, making it rigid, sturdy and impervious to saltwater corrosion. Tough Digigear is installed inside the body to provide a powerful and smooth retrieve, and the comfortable EVA knob is a great quality-of-life upgrade for the keen angler
