Shimano Tranx 500 HG Overhead Fishing Reel

The Shimano Tranx's low-slung shape and light weight thanks to the use of a forged and machined aluminium spool, aluminium frame and side plate, means it's a pleasure to use. It holds 420 metres of 24 kilo Power Pro braid, and the Dartanium II drag system can produce 12 kilos of fish-stopping power. There are two models the 500HG with a 6.6:1 retrieve speed for all-out pace, or the gruntier 500PG, which has 4.6:1. X-Ship double bearing supported pinion gear and High Efficiency Gearing combined with the beefy handle provides plenty of cranking power.
