This is a lock it up and hold on combo, it is good for wrestling big Kings away from where they want to go, the reel is a Daiwa Saltist MQ 18000 and its 15kg+ of drag is what will help you do so. The rod is a Daiwa Monster Mesh Max 531-300 so it will take jigs up to 300g, giving the angler plenty of head turning ability, essential when targeting large pelagics and reef species. These rods are unbreakable and awesome to fish with hence why so many of the guys at the shop use them themselves. It is an awesome combo for live baiting and jigging reefs from 10 to 130m of water. The braid it comes with is the Daiwa J Braid X4 in 80 lb so it has the strength needed for big Kingfish.
