Penn Mercenary & Shimano Speedmaster 15kg LBG Overhead Fishing Combo

This LBG setup has been put together for anglers looking to chase Longtail Tuna, Cobia and Spanish Mackerel off land. This combo has a great line capacity, mono topshot, castibility, saltwater resistance and length, all the essential features of a good LBG gamefishing setup. The Penn mercenary comes in at 8ft long, the extra length will help keep your line away from the rocks and also get a better angle on fish when they are at the gaff. It is difficult to find overhead rods that come in this length, so the Penn Mercenary has been an extremley popular rod in the shop. The Shimano Speedmaster 12 has a strong, smooth drag system and is very resistant to saltwater and debris. The lever drag system allows you to go from free spool to strike very quickly, meaning you can let fish run with your livebait and then set the hook in a matter of seconds. This combo comes spooled with 500 meters of 30lbs J-Braid backing which is joined with a PR-knot to approximately 200m of 15kg Momoi topshot.
