The Plays 4000 is the middle ground between light handheld electric reels and the XL reels you can set in the holder and let the boat do all the lifting. It fits 300m of PE8 Braid great for when you are fishing with heavier sinkers or need to get fish in quickly to avoid sharks. The Plays has a Hagane body, meaning it is rigid and wont flex under its heavy 15 kg drag capacity.

The Penn Ocean Assassin II is a tough rod, the bent butt feature means it is best fished in the holder therefore ideal if you plan on fishing solo or want to run multiple baits on a drift. The PE8 model is very powerful and will have no issue handling the heavy drag capacity of the Plays 4000. The Ocean Assassin is fitted with top quality PACBAY components, a glass / graphite composite blank and a swivel tip which will prevent your line from wrapping around the blank.

We've chose Daiwa J-Braid x4 80lbs for this combo, x4 braid is abrasion resistant and very strong whilst having impressive knot tying qualities. It is essential to run multi colour braid when deep dropping so you can keep track of where your bait is in the water column.
