Shimano SLX Raider Barra Baitcast Combo 2
Looking to chase Barra and don't want to spend a fortune; this is the combo for you. Consisting of the New 22 Shimano SLX reel released Feb 2023. The rod is the Shimano Raider 621 Barra Baitcast; with a rating on 6-10kg it is perfect for casting top water, plastics and hard bodied lures for Barra, Jacks and Jewfish with some backbone to extract them from the snags. The outfit comes spooled with Shimano Power Pro 150yds 20lb which is known for its abrasion resistance and castability.
Combo consists of:

- Shimano Raidar 621 Barra Magnum
- Shimano Power Pro 150yds 20lb
Inside the SLX’s Hagane Body, brass gearing delivers reliable cranking power and three SUS bearings and one roller bearing means everything turns smoothly. The reel incorporates a compact design that is comparable to a 70 sized Curado, however the reel has the same line capacity as Shimano’s standard 150 sized reels, fitting 150m of 20lb Power Pro. A longer 45mm Throw Handle working in conjunction with two model options featuring gear ratios of 6.3:1 and 7.2:1 means that the slow and methodical lure worker and the angler who likes a bit of speed are well covered by the new SLX series. On top of this, max’ drag settings of between 5 and 5.5kg provides some amazing stopping power should it be needed.

The Rod
The iconic Raider series – Shimano's most comprehensive rod range – has continuously lifted the benchmark for performance and value. The latest line-up has been upgraded to 30T graphite blanks for improved strength and a responsive, lightweight, and crisp feel. Additionally, the guides have been upgraded to Fuji's single-foot FazLite K guides for further weight reduction and responsiveness. The Raider range is fitted with custom Shimano reel seats, a mix of split and full-length custom cork grips and eye-catching cosmetics. The latest Raider line-up covers 35 models including a new kids Junior range, Dash range and Flats Spin and Swimbait models.
