The Ugly Stik and Socorro 10000 is the ideal combo for someone who is looking to get into beach and rockfishing. This combo can be used for casting baits for Sharks and Jew off of the beach, livebaiting for pelagics such as Kingfish and Bontio off the rocks and casting live and deadbaits for Jew off breakwalls. The Socorro 10000 is lightweight reel for its size meaning you can fish with it in the hand in comfort, although Hagane gearing and the low gear ratio will give you enough power to put some power into any larger fish you find yourself hooking. The Ugly Stik has Fuji K guides which help stop tangles and knotting in the line, this is important on a surf rod as you are typically casting heavier weights far and can be prone to tangles. Additionally the Ugly Stik has a glass tip and slow taper meaning you can feel bites in the rod and that the tip will be hard to snap. The setup is spooled with Platypus mono, monofilament line is very abrasion resistant ideal for fishing off rocks and breakwalls where fish tend to find structure. Mono also has alot of stretch, espacially under pressure meaning it will soak up alot of pressure from fish such as headshakes from a Jew or tailbeats from a pelagic sitting in deep water.

This Combo Includes:

- Shimano Socorro 10000

- Ugly Stik Bluewater 8-12kg, 12ft, 2pc

- Platypus monofilament, 300m 40lbs

Performance & Durability - The Shimano Socorro are very durable fishing reels, with a cold-forged aluminium body. It not only makes the Socorro incredible strong but also gives it a stunning finish aesthetically. With the X-ship and Hagane gear design, you can rest assured that the Shimano Socorro will fight any fish that you are going to hook up to.

Why buy a Socorro? The Shimano Socorro reels are a good all-round fishing reels that won't break the bank, and they are light. The Shimano Socorro is ultimately worth every penny spent on the fishing reel.

The Socorro and 8000, The Shimano Socorro 8000 is the perfect reel for light bottom bashing for plate sized fish in water anywhere for 15 to 150m deep. 300m of Power Pro Braid on it no problem at all, use Moss green if you are an East Coast fisherman as you will not get bitten off by Leatherjackets as much.

The Socorro 10000, Personally used by us at Ottos the 10000 Socorro is an awesome reel for bottom bashing due to being so light, nothing worse than holding a heavy reel all day, but like all Shimano reels is still built tough and strong so it can still be used for wrestling big Kings away from structure.

The Shimano Socorro covers all big fish applications from inshore to offshore, surf to pier, kayak to boat and saltwater to freshwater. Shimano Socorro is the new kid on the block and is proving itself in the harsh Australian environment. Shimano Socorro has proven again and again to be worth its very affordable price point.

The Shimano Socorro  comes with a 10 year Shimano Australia Warranty

With over 40 years of Australian rod building experience under the belt, the Ugly Stik Bluewater series is synonymous with strength and sensitivity. The new Bluewater series keeps the actions that have made Ugly Stik a house hold name while incorporating new technology that improves dependability and performance where it counts – on the water.

Newly engineered Ugly Stik Howald process featuring Triple Built construction around an internal fiberglass core. Parallel fibers infused with pigmented polyester resin creates a strong yet sensitive rod with better balance that is virtually indestructible.

The latest inter-core laminate is an innovative design process that surrounds the graphite shaft fibers in the outer walls with a rigid-wrap structure.

The new process provides greater stiffness and superior strength through the blank shaft. This creates a better taper from the backbone of the blank to the tip providing extra sensitivity and casting performance.

Fuji FazeLite rings combine long cast performance, durability and the most affordable ring ever pressed into a K-series frame. Fuji FazLite rings have a unique deep blue hue that is braid proof, super tough and smooth as silk, plus they come in the all new CC corrosion control frame. Fuji’s new Corrosion Control (CC) process is a breakthrough in guide performance that provides seven times the corrosion resistance of standard stainless steel. A perfect component for the toughest rods on the water.

Fuji DPS-M , DPS-H and PSS palming reel seats are incorporated across the range.

Finished with comfortable tapered grips with Ugly Stik etched into the EVA and a slick new finish, Ugly Stik Bluewater never looked so good.
