This heavy overhead setup is ideal for most offshore fishing applications, you can drop deadbaits for Snapper and Pearl Perch, livebaits for Trag and Mulloway, jig for Kingfish and Amberjack, or even cast small stickbaits for Mahi Mahi. It is a good combo if you are looking to kill a flock of birds with one stone! If you are looking to add a versatile combo to your arsenal the Tranx and Anthem is ideal. The Shimano Tranx is well sealed due to technology such as coreprotect making it ideal for offshore fishing as reels tend to recieve heavy spray, especially on days with strong winds or big swell. The Anthem rods have a strong backbone and are comfortable to fight fish with. The combo is spooled with Shimano PowerPro, a strong, slick braid popular amongst the staff at Ottos Tackle World. We feel the Tranx 300 combo is ideal for Snapper fishing, weather the angler is casting plastics or baits, and also Mahi Mahi fishing as the extra length in the Anthem 30-50lbs will allow the angler to cast lures and livebaits further with ease.

The Anthem SW series is a dedicated sportfishing series of rods that feature 12 purpose-built models for Australian conditions with 2 overhead, 5 spin, 2 stick bait and 3 jigging models. Built tough to handle any unforgiving saltwater species, Shimano's durable and lightweight TC4 blank construction has been used, which ensures powerful performance when both casting and fighting a fish once hooked. Premium Fuji K Faz Lite guides have been fitted and the grip section features specially designed custom shaped EVA moulded grips for comfort and added grip. These rods are suited to be fished right along Australia’s saltwater coastline, whether it be GT’s on the northern reefs or southern bluefin busting up bait.
