Shimano Tyrnos 50 & Penn Ocean Assassin 37kg Gamefishing Combo

Since the Ocean Assassin is a hard guide rod it is completely braid friendly, fishing braid on 37kg rods gives you an advantage as it means you can use 50W reels instead of 80W. Smaller reels are good if you fish standup or want to switchbait, although these kinds of fishing can still be done on an 80W. The Tyrnos is a solid reel and is extremley well sealed which is an essential feature of a game reel, it's also got a smooth drag system even under heavy load. The II speed feature on the Tyrnos is great for Tuna fishing as the fish typically sit deep, below the boat. When this happens the low gear ratio gives you more cranking power, allowing you to get the fish boatside.
