When heading out on mothership trips to patches of reef far out into the coral sea some of the best fishing you can expect to have is over shallow reef flats and bommies. You'll be casting small stickbaits and soft plastics for species such as Coral Trout, Giant Trevally, Wrasse, Chinaman and pelagics. Since the water is so shallow you need a combo which will extract hard fighting reef fish out of the coral into open water to avoid being busted off, this is why we chose the Saltist Hyper Multi-Tool as the rod for this combo.
