The Shimano Baitrunner OC range now feature advances like a machined handle, a replaceable spool clicker, Varispeed Oscillation for perfect line lay with Power Pro braid, and Propulsion Line Management for greater distance while casting. The Shimano baitrunner OC lever moves towards the body to stop any accidental gear changes, and there’s three SA-RB bearings and an anti-reverse bearing. All Shimano Baitrunner OC reels will double both as land based and Boat reels but are ideal for beach fishing as you can click the Baitrunner on and not have to worry about your rod and reel being dragged into the water by a big fish. 

The Shimano Baitrunner OC 4000 is the perfect size for Bream and whitting but will still handle Salmon and Tailor off the beach and will suit Power Pro Braid in from 8lb up 10lb comfortably.

The Shimano Baitrunner OC 6000 is a good allrounder for beach fishing and Boat fishing, it is a popular boat reel for Fisherman fishing for Jewfish as it helps present the bait naturally without the fish feeling the tension of the line or weight of the sinker. The Shimano Baitrunner OC 6000 will suit Power Pro Braid from between 15lb up to 30lb. The Baitrunner 6000 OC is also great for Salmon, Tailor, Jewfish off the beach and Bonito and small Kingfish off the rocks.

The Shimano Baitrunner OC 8000 is a great reel for a wide range of species, it is a good boat reel for Jewfish much like the Baitrunner 6000 OC and 12000 OC  and will handle bigger Kingfish off the rocks and will handle a Big Jewfish off the Beach, The Shimano Baitrunner 8000 OC will also do light offshore work for Snapper and Kingfish.
