The Citica and Tatula Baitcast combos are best suited to fishing for species such as Barramundi, Jew and other medium sized fish you find in river and estuary systems. There is both a high and low speed reel picked for these combos, we feel that the low speed reel is better suited to vibing and throwing soft plastic lures deeper in the water column. Hence why we have matched it with the 6ft 12kg Tatula XT as the rod has more backbone and you can quickly bring fish up from the bottom, avoiding bust offs. The high speed Citica is better suited to angler who is casting shallow hardbodies up gutters for Barramundi or deeper crankbaits up the back of snags. The longer rod means you can cast your lures further and the boat can sit further away from where you are fishing, additionally the rod is a bit lighter making it easier to fish with over long periods of time. These setups are spooled with Shimano PowerPro, this braid is highly abrasion resistant which is ideal when fishing in heavy structure.

Careful consideration has been taken to produce a series of actions catered to Australia, from short powerful baitcast rods for Barramundi through to ultralight actions suited to bream or trout. 

Fuji’s O ring stainless steel guides outfit the rods with Daiwa designed reel seats providing a comfortable, confident grip in the hand. Split EVA grips are both stylish and comfortable and have been carefully considered to suit the usage of each particular model.

  Daiwa’s latest carbon technology, Braiding X is a low resin, high strength, reduced weight, high density, carbon weave that creates a blank that has maximum density, yet is super light, sensitive, and highly responsiveness.

  HVF (High Volume Fibre) combines precise resin control with unidirectional graphite fibre to produce a blank with maximum graphite density, making it incredibly sensitive, light and responsive.

• X45

  Developed to eliminate blank twist and increase power, X45 features a Bias Wrap Construction, left/right 45 degree carbon weave within the blank. X45 radically improves rod strength and durability by eliminating twist and preventing the blank from losing its round form. The elimination of this twist allows for a lighter, stronger and more powerful and sensitive rod

Shimano Citica Baitcast Reel

There are three Citicas to choose from — the CI200I with a gear ratio of 6.3:1, and then the choice of high gear left or right-handed versions with ratios of 7.2:1. The SVS Infinity Casting System delivers precise braking range, the S3D Stable Spool Design features uniform thin wall construction that reduces spool vibration, and there are 5 SA-RB bearings and 1 roller bearing to make the winding experience even sweeter.
