This combo is versatile, meaning you can chase a wide variety of species in a variety of ways weather that be flathead on soft plastics or bream and whiting off of the beach on pippies.The Shimano Sienna is a extremely light and smooth reel, the light Shimano reels are renouned for their finesse qualities without compromising durability and strength. The Maikuro II goes hand in hand with the Sienna due to its completely graphite blank it is extremely light, whilst the fast taper of the Maikuro II makes this the ideal combo for throwing lightly weighted estuary lures. The combo comes spooled with Daiwa J-Braid x4, a strong braid with good abrasion resistant properties.

SHIMANO 19 SIENNA 4000 SPINNING FISHING REEL

There is a 1000, 2000, 2500, C3000 and 4000 size available which opens up a range of light line fishing options, from whiting through to flathead. With braided fishing line becoming more popular the Sienna reels are well suited as the AR-C spool increases distance by preventing wind knots, and smaller loops running through the stripping guide. Depending on the size, the drag power rating is between 3 and 8.5Kg which is more than enough to handle such species. Finished in a black and red cosmetic, they match great with many of Shimano’s fibreglass and graphite rods.

SHIMANO MAIKURO II SPINNING FISHING ROD

A favourite amongst anglers, the 2020 Maikuro series is the perfect all-round graphite rod series that represents great value and performance. Now, the series has been given a sleek cosmetic refresh as well as some great componentry upgrades. The blank has been upgraded to a 30T Toray graphite blank, which gives the angler a crisp feeling rod when working any size lure. The guides have also been upgraded to Sea guide K frames to add a new look and feel, while the butt end of the rod still features the classic Maikuro style of mixed full-length cork and EVA butts across different models.
