Shimano Twinpower XD Fishing Reels

Shimano Twin Power XD is the latest Twin Power series that brought out by Shimano last year. Shimano Twin Power XD are all made in Japan factory. The Twin Power XD held a high standard in the spinning reel department. Shimano Twin Power XD comes in 3 sizes from 3000 to 5000. Twin Power XD is one of Shimano high-end reel. Shimano Twin Power XD pack full of latest technology from Shimano such as Hagane Gear, X-Ship, Magnumlite Rotor, X-Protect, SA-RB bearings. Shimano Twin Power XD is suitable for saltwater use. With the drag power up to 11 kg, Shimano Twin Power XD will handle from small to any medium size pelagic fish. 
 

The Twin Power XD features the battle tested cold forged Hagane Gear, X-Ship and Magnumlite Rotor. To prevent saltwater intrusion, X Protect provides Shimano’s highest degree of protection. Developed specifically for the XD series, X Protect uses a waterproof labyrinth structure that blocks any external saltwater entry. There are three models, all with nine SA-RB bearings and one roller bearing, including a compact 3000 and 5000 size, alongside a standard 4000 size.

Hagane Body - The Hagane body is a metal reel body with high rigidity. The body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing. The result transforms the angler’s actions directly into cranking power.
 

Hagane Gear - Hagane is the concept of power. By using a cold forging technique, we produced a class-leading drive gear that is stronger and more durable.

AR- C Spool - Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations, it has been determined that the AR-C spool lip design produces longer casting distances than a standard spool lip, while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming. It also allows the line to flow off the spool in smaller loops during the cast, which means less slap on the stripper guide. This results in longer casts with less friction. A spool designed with a V-shape spool lip ensures the line comes off the reel in smaller loops, for longer, more accurate casting

CI4+ - We have upgraded our light-weight carbon material Ci4. Keeping it light weight, rigidity and durability of the material under fishing conditions are highly improved. From this characteristic, we were able to reduce the volume and weight of the rotor and the body.


G Free Body - G Free Body technology has been developed to shift the reel’s centre of gravity closer to the rod. This has been achieved by moving the worm shaft oscillation mechanism 19mm up from the bottom of the reel to the top. By moving the centre of gravity closer to the angler’s hand position, the G Free Body helps to reduce fatigue and enhances casting comfort.

One-Piece Bail - One Piece Bail allows the line to travel unimpeded to the line roller. Its seamless design reduces friction and the chance of tangles or cuts to the bail arm.

Rigid Support Drag - Rigid Support Drag eliminates spool movement and wobble, even at light drag settings. The result is an incredibly smooth drag even at extremely light settings.

S A-RB - Shielded Anti-Rust bearings are similar to A-RB, but feature additional shields for the ultimate protection
 

X Protect - X-Protect is a water resistant technology. The aim was to create a water repellant technology that did not impede rotation or lightness. The technology combines water repellent treatments and a labyrinth type structure to suppress the entry of water, achieveing a high level of waterproofing performance despite non-contact.

X-SHIP - X-Ship stands for Extra, Smooth and High Power. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with SA-RB bearings (on Stella models) and introducing a bigger drive gear, Shimano increased gearing efficiency and higher power. This results in a fishing reel with ultra-light handle rotation for less effort, even under heavy loads. This increases the efficiency of the reel, meaning it will stay smoother and perform at its peak for much longer

MGL Rotor - The redesigned Magnumlite Rotor delivers ultra light, almost friction free rotation, enabling you to control the retrieve with ultimate precision and sensitivity. Lures become even more animated when using the MGL Rotor reel, and the ultra light experience lets you feel every movement of the lure, the bottom and ultimately the strike of the fish, no matter how slight it is.
