The Daiwa Saltist X overhead rods are perfect for livebaiting as they are short, meanig you can land them with less hassle once surfaced as you can hold the fish closer to the boat. The Saltist-X uses Fuji K Guides which are anti tangle. Additionally the Braiding-X technology makes these rods almost unbreakable.

SHIMANO TYRNOS 16 OVERHEAD REELS

The Shimano Tyrnos single speed lever drag overhead series comes packed with Shimano's cutting edge reel technology. With a compact one-piece cold forged frame, light-weight spool with oversized High Efficiency Gearing, these durable aluminium reels have the incredible cranking power one looks for in a light to medium tackle game reel. The 12 holds 380 metres of seven kilo mono and the 16 holds 475 metres of ten, but both would make superb six and eight kilo reels. Their vast drag range means you could spool up with Power Pro braid and use them for non-IGFA fishing as well. For heavy tackle, look at the 50LRS model. All five models have alternating twin pawl anti-reverse mechanisms.
