This combo is ideal in conditions where Trout are at their most finicky and reluctant to eat, the slow taper of the Murasame allows the angler to cast even the smallest of lures far upstream into the jaws of hungry Trout. Using a 5:1 speed reel such as the Vanford 1000 F is important whilst creek and stream fishing as it assists the angler to remove slack in the line, keeping them in contact with their lure. This gives the lures a better action and also increases hookup rates. Daiwa J-Thread fluro, which is run straight through the reel is just about invisible to the naked eye once it hits the water, decreasing the chances that the Trout will become spooked.
